2、evelsofamathematicalclasssysteminmiddleschoolmathematicsclasses.TheresultsshowthatthecurrentmainstreamlevelofmathematicsclassesisLevel1,whichis,teachersguidestudentsstepbystep.Inquirylevel0andlevel2alsoexistandroughlyinthesameproportion.Thesurveyalsorevealedahighproportionofstudentswantedtoimpr

3、ovetheclassinquirylevel.Keywords:class,inquiry,investigationPrefaceFromthelate1990stotheearly21stcentury,inquirylearninghasalreadybeencarriedoutandextendedtodozensofcountriesandregionsintheworld.In2001,Chinalaunchedanewroundofreformconcerningtheelementaryschooleducationcurriculum,whichadvocates

4、thatstudents“participateactivelyandexplorehappily.”(MathematicsCurriculumStandardResearchGroup,2002).Asascientificteachingmethod,Inquiryiswinningtheheartsandmindsofthepeople.Accordingto《辞海》,“inquiry”meansto“discussdeeply,researchrepeatedly”.Aretheteachersorthestudentsgoingto“discussdeeply,resea

5、rchrepeatedly”?Differentinquirysubjectsrequiredifferentinquirylevels.Ithasbeen10yearssincereformstarted.Thisstudyisaboutthedevelopmentofmathematicsasthefoundationcourseintheelementaryschoolclassroom.Thisproblemwasnotstudieddomestically;ratherwehavedevelopedtheHerronfourlevelinquirysystems,build

6、ingthefourlevelinquirysystemformathematicsclassesatthemiddleschool.Withthishelp,weconductedthecurrentresearchtoinvestigatethistopic.LiteratureReviewTheDevelopmentoftheInquiryLevelInthe1950sand1960s,Schwabputforwardthreeinquirylevelswhichdemonstratedimprovementonebyoneinlabexploration.Inthesimpl
