2、omonitoringhasbecomeincreasinglyimportantformonitoringthesecurityofdestinedlocations.TraditionalsecuritymonitoringsystemsusingcoaxialcablesandVCRrecordingsystemsareexpensiveandineffective.WiththerapidgrowthoftheInternet,itisnowpossibletouseitasanintermediatetransmissionmediumtosupportreal-t
3、imevideotransmission.Thispaperproposesaweb-basedremotemonitoringsystemknownasiSecure.Apartfromtheessentialliveorstoredvideotransmission,intelligentmonitoringandweb-basedmonitoringarealsosupported.AsthetransmissionoflivevideodatathroughthepacketswitchednetworkenvironmentoftheInternetcanresul
4、tinpacketlossandqualitydegradation,theiSecuresystemhasimplementedanadaptivetransmissionandrecoverymechanismtoenhancethequalityofreal-timevideotransmission.Intelligentmonitoringforelevatorsecurityandface-baseddooraccesscontrolapplicationshasbeenincorporated.TheiSecuresystemcanbeusedasaframew
