2、rationisminimizedbyplacingthetwoWepresentexperimentalresultsforattenuationcorrectionimagingscannersadjacenttooneanothersothattheemissionofemissiontomographythroughuseofanattenuationmapandtransmissionimagesareacquiredwithoutremovingthederivedfromX-rayCTdata.BoththeX-rayand

3、gamma-raypatientfromthetablebetweenthetwoscans.Wereportheredatawereobtainedonaprototypeemission-transmissiontheresultsobtainedusingthissystem,withitsattenuationimagingsystem(“X-SPECT”)whichincorporatesathird-correctioncapabilities,formyocardialperfusionassessmentgeneratio

4、nX-rayCTscannerandasingle-headedSPECTinpigs.scanner.ThetwocommercialimagingdevicesarejuxtaposedsuchthattheCTtablecanmovethepatient11.SYSTEMDESIGNdirectlyintotheSPECTscanneraftertheX-rayscan.ThisenablessystematicregistrationofSPECTandX-rayCTOurcombinedX-SPECTimagingsystemi

5、sshowninimages.Tocalibrateattenuationmapcreation,asetofCTFigure1.NotetheadjacentpositionsofthetwocommercialscansforaspecificphantomgeometryandX-raytechniquescanners.Thescannersshareasingletabletoprecludethewereacquired,withvaryingattenuatingmaterialsineachneedformovementb

6、ythepatientbetweenSPECTandX-rayscan.ApiecewiselinearfitwasappliedtotheCTnumbersCTscans.Registrationofimagesfromthetwomodalitiesisandknownattenuationcoefficientsat140keV,andtheresultsimplifiedbythesharedtableandknownsystemgeometry.isusedtocreateattenuationmapsat140keVfromg

7、ivenCTThejuxtapositionofourSPECTscannerandCTscannerimages.ThistechniquehasbeenappliedtosmallpigsinresultsintheexposureofourSPECTscannertoasignificantmyocardialperfusionstudies.CorrectingforattenuationfluxofscatterfromtheCTscanner.Wehave,however,increasedtheimage-derivedmy
