5、pSErunningreliablyevenunderacontingencyandtorunSEoveragridwithextremelylargesize.Theobjectiveofthisdissertationistousegraphtheorytoaddresstheabovetwochallenges.TokeepSErunningreliablyunderacontingency,anoveltopologicalapproachisfirstproposedtoidentifycriticalmeasurementsan

6、dexaminenetworkobservabilityunderacontingency.Toadvancetheclassicaltopologicalobservabilityanalysis,anewconceptofcontingencyobservabilitygraph(COG)isintroducedanditisproventhatapowersystemnetworkmaintainsitsobservabilityunderacontingencyifandonlyifitsCOGsatisfiessomecondit

7、ions.AsanapplicationofCOG,atwo-stageheuristictopologicalapproachisfurtherdevelopedbasedonthenewconceptofqualifiedCOG(QCOG)tominimizethenumberofmeasurementsandRTUsundertheconstraintthatthesystemremainsobservableunderanysinglecontingency.ToovercomethedisadvantagesofexistingS
