3、severalstages:radonrisktrainingforthepublichealthprofes-sionals,measurementsofradonconcentrationinschoolsandnurseries(morethan1000buildingswereexamined),justificationsofradoncountermeasuresandtheirimplementa-tion.Thelognormalfrequencydistributionforequivalentequilibriumconcent
4、rationwasau-thenticallyestablished.Thegeometricmeanoftheindoorradonequivalentequilibriumcon-centrationwasestablishedto63Bq/m3,andstandarddeviationisequalto82Bq/m3.Theindoorradonequivalentequilibriumconcentrationrangedfrom22Bq/m3to809Bq/m3.Itwasfoundthatthenationalregulatorylim
5、itforthistypeofbuildingswasexceededinmorethan50%ofthecases.Thesecondphaseoftheprojecthasagoaltoremediateradonlevelsandreduceradonrisks.Calculatedexposuredosesandradonriskwereusedtojustifytheremediationandassesstheeconomiclossfortheregioncausedbyradonirradiationofthepopulation.
