2、elationswerejudged.Lawandrightsemanatedfromthestates.Underdemocraticregimesitwasheldthatmajoritywillcreatedlawandgrantedrights.Beyondthese,norestrictionsoflawcouldbindthesovereignstate.Inrecentyearsthatpeculiartwentieth-centuryphenomenonthetotalitarianregime-revivedamo
3、ngpoliticalphilosophersthestudyofthetraditionalistnaturallawdoctrine,withitsinsistenceuponlimitedstateauthority.ThisworkofProfessorStrauss,baseduponhisWalgreenFoundationlectures,presentsakeenanalysisofthephilosophyofnaturalright.Itisacritiqueofcertainmodernpoliticalthe
