3、theperformancesanalysisofsilicaopticalfiber(SOF)andquartzcrystalmicrobalance(QCM)volatileorganiccompounds(VOCs)sensors,coatedbysingle-walledcarbonnanotubes(SWCNTs)multilayers,towardstolueneandxylenevapors,atroomtemperature.TheLangmuir-Blodgett(LB)techniqueha
4、sbeenusedforthedepositionofcarbonnanotubesdirectlyontotheopticalandacousticsensorssubstrates.AtimedivisionmultiplexingapproachhasbeenusedinordertosimultaneouslytestuptoeightSOFandsixQCMchemicalsensorsinthesametestchamber.Theresultsobtaineddemonstrategoodsen
5、sitivity,fastresponseandhighrepeatabilityprovidedbytheproposedsensorsevenatverylowconcentrations.Resolutionsintheppmandsub-ppmrangehavebeenfoundtowardsthetestedVOCs,forbothopticalandacoustictransducers.TheeffectsoftheSWCNTsfilmthicknessandevenofacadmiumarach
6、idate(CdA)buffermultilayer,exploitedinthepasttoimprovetheadhesionofnanotubesontothesensorssubstrates,ontheperformancesofSOFandQCMtransducershavebeeninvestigated.Totheaim,severalopticalandacousticsensorswithadifferentnumberofSWCNTsLBlayers,directlydepositedo
7、ntoopticalfibersandquartzsurfacesandbufferedbyaCdAlinkermaterial,havebeenfabricatedandsimultaneouslyexposed,atroomtemperature,todifferentconcentrationpulsesoftolueneandxylene.TheresultsobtaineddemonstratethepossibilitytousethedatacomingfromcarbonnanotubesSOF
