2、devisualizingthewavefunction,wave-particleduality,theimplicationsofSchrödinger’scat,probability,theuncertaintyprinciple,collapseofthewavefunction,andothers.However,becauseofthepeculiar,non-intuitivenatureofquantummechanics,onemustunderstandthepotentialinterpretationsofitsmathematicsbeforeon
3、ecanproperlyunderstandtheseconcepts.Thusthepaperisorganizedaroundinterpretations,conceptualpicturesthatexplainthepeculiarpropertiesofthetheory.TheonlyinterpretationthatcurrentlysatisfiesalltheconstraintsimposedbyexperimentsandthetheoryitselfmakesuseofaperceivingMindwhichisoutsidethelawsofqu
4、antummechanics.Introduction.Quantummechanicsisahighlysuccessfultheorywhichaccuratelydescribesphysicalrealityinawiderangeofsituations.Itsuseofthenon-intuitivewavefunction,however,meansthatthetruenatureofthephysicalrealitydescribedisfarfromclear.Becauseofthis,manydifferentinterpretations—conc
5、eptualpicturesofthenatureoftheunderlyingreality—havebeenproposed.Therearethreemajorinterpretationsandperhapsadozenothers,soonesometimesgetstheimpressionthatitisnotpossibletogainaproperunderstandingofwhatunderliesthetheory.Thesituation,however,isnotaschaoticasitappears.Thereasontherearesoman
6、yinterpretationsisthattheiroriginatorswereapparentlynotawareofalltherelevantpropertiesofthetheoryitself.Sowhatwedohereislistandjustifyallthepropertiesofquantummechanicsrelevanttoitsinterpretation.Thisapproachbringsordertotheinterpretiveproblemandsignificantlynarrowsdownthesetofpossibleinter
7、pretations.History.Tounderstandhowasuccessfultheorycouldrequireaninterpretation,weneedtobrieflyreviewthehistoryofphysics.Classicalmechanics,discoveredalmostentirelybyNewtonaround1700,wasavery2successfulmathematicalschemeforpredictingthepathsoftheatomstha
