3、otholderandmorerecenttheories,100Sswereaskedtorecallexperiencesofparticularnegativeemotionsandanswerquestionsconcerningwhattheyfelt,thought,feltlikedoing,actuallydid,andwanted.Resultssupporthypothesesspecifyingcharacteristicresponsesforfear,sadness,distre
4、ss,frustration,disgust,dislike,anger,regret,guilt,andshame.Thefindingsindicatethatdis-creteemotionshavedistinctivegoalsandactiontendencies,aswellasthoughtsandfeelings.Inaddi-tion,theyprovideempiricalsupportforhypothesizedemotionstatesthathavereceivedinsuf
