2、fthesaltload/climaticpartoftheprovinggroundcorrosiontestprocedure,CETP00.00-R-343andyieldscorrespondingresults.Theobjectiveofthetestistoallowevaluationofthecorrosionresistanceofmetalsinenvironmentswherethereisasignificantinfluenceofchlorideions,mainlyassodiumchloridefromamarinesourceorbywinterr

3、oadde-icingsalt.Thelaboratorytestprovidesfullexposuretothesaltloadandhumidityenvironment.Itdoesnotattempttosimulateotherengravingfactorssuchasmudloads,temperaturestressesorwear.Itservesasageneralpurposeatmosphericcorrosiontestandappliestoavarietyofmaterials,coatings,andinteractionsofmaterials,b

4、othastestspecimensorindesignedcomponents.Thetestcanbeusedasadesignverificationmethodinorderto(a)developandqualifynewcorrosionresistantproducts,(b)developnewpre-treatmentsandfinishingprocesses,(c)selectmaterialsand,(d)performqualitycontrolofthefinalproduct.Thestandardspecifiescontrolledcondition
