4、tingsinthepost-1945periodhaveresonatedinthewritingsofMarthaNussbaumandSeylaBenhabib,whobothemergedasleadingfiguresinthe1990s.Givensuchahistoricalcorrespondence,itisnotsurprisingthatbothNussbaumandBenhabibwouldfindcausetonegatethestructuralistassumptionthat
5、oneshouldn’tpresumeanapriorisocialsubject(intheirterms,ahumanbeing)ascentraltocultural,socialandpoliticalanalysis.Nussbaum’sreturntoAristotelianethicsandBenhabib’sconcernwithKantandhumanrightsbothrequiredamoralorderpredicatedonuniversalsthathavetodowitht
