3、thetoleranceofmaizetoosmoticstressandprobethemechanism.Theresultsareasfollow:1EffectsofpolyamineseedsoakingongerminationofmaizeseedunderosmoticstressThegerminationrate,germinationenergyandcoleoptilelengthofXundan20seedsdecreasemoresignificantlythanNo

4、ngda108underosmoticstress.Theseindexeschangeinsignificantlywithtreatmentofdifferentconcentrationofputrescineanddecreaseunderllighconcentration.However,theseindexesofXundan20increasemoremarkedlythanthoseofNongda108withtreatmentofdifferentconcentration

5、ofspermidineandspermineandtheseindexesaremaximalat0.5mmol/Lconcentration.TheresultssuggestthatSpdandSpmseedsoakingatlowconcentrationcouldpromoteseedgerminationunderosmoticstress,butputrescinetreatmentseemsinsignificant.Themechanismwhichpolyamineseeds

6、oakingalleviatetheinhibitionofosmoticstresstomaizeseedgerminationisthatpolyamineseedsoakingatproperconcentrationenhancestheactivitiesofamylaseandproteaseandfacilitatesthehydrolysisofstoragesubstances,e.g.starch.2Effectofseedsoakingwithspermidineontol
