3、achining"becauseitremovesmetalbyproducingarapidseriesofrepetitive electrical discharges.These electrical dischargesarepassedbetweenanelectrodeandthepieceofmetalbeingmachined.Thesmallamountofmaterialthatisremovedfromtheworkpieceisflushedawaywithacontinuouslyflowingfluid.Therepetitivedischa

4、rgescreateasetofsuccessivelydeepercratersintheworkpieceuntilthefinalshapeisproduced.TherearetwoprimaryEDMmethods:ramEDMandwireEDM.Theprimarydifferencebetweenthetwoinvolvestheelectrodethatisusedtoperformthe machining.InatypicalramEDMapplication,agraphiteelectrodeismachinedwithtraditionalto
