3、ctorsbehindvowelinthepre-pausalposition.Althoughapausefollow-devoicinghavenotbeenfullystudied.Inaddition,ingavowelisgenerallyconsideredasconstitutingatherehavebeennostudiesthatspecificallyexam-devoicingenvironmentinthesamewayasavoice-inedpre-pausalvoweld
4、evoicing.Inthispaper,welessconsonant,empiricalfactshaveshownthatitinvestigatevoweldevoicinginthepre-pausalposi-isnotthecase.Basedonreadspeechdatapro-tion,inparticular,voweldevoicingoccurringattheducedbyspeakersoftheTottoridialect,Maekawautterance-finalpo
5、sition,usingacorpusofsponta-[5]showedthatthedevoicingratesof/ki/and/si/neousJapanese.Wefirstshowoveralldevoicingwhenfollowedbyapausewithinasentencewereratesofmoraeappearingatthephrase-final,pre-only6.1%and10.3%,respectively;thesenumberspausalposition,andi
6、llustratethattheyareattributedwerefarsmallerthanthedevoicingratesofthesetoasmallsetoffrequentlexicalitems.Wethenmoraewhenfollowedbyavoicelessconsonant,i.e.,examinesomefactorsthatmayaffecttheprobabil-61.0%and97.6%.Investigationofareadspeechityofvoweldevo
7、icing,focusingonsomelexicalcorpusofStandardJapanese[8]alsoshowedthattheitemstypicallyappearingattheutterance-finalpo-devoicingrateinthevoiceless-consonantenviron-sition.Theresultssuggestthatutterance-finalvowelmentwas87.5%,whereasthedevoicingrateinthedevo
