2、eofthe Aucklandwaterfront, NewZealand.Itislocatedtothenorthof FreemansBay andtothewestofthe ViaductBasin.Asof2012,agoodpartoftheareaisstillcoveredbypetrolandliquidchemicalstoragefacilitiesof PortsofAucklandLtd (POAL)andvariousothercompanies,thatgavetheareaitsnowslowlydi
3、sappearing"TankFarm"moniker.However,majorchangesareunderway,withtheareaintendedtoberedevelopedintoamixed-useresidential-commercialarea,withamajorparktorunalongthenorthernheadlandanduptothepoint.Asoneofthefirstchanges,theeasternsectionoftheQuarter,aswellasoneofthemainwes
4、t-eastroadsrunningacrossit,wererevitalisedwithnewofficeandentertainment/restaurantareas,withseveralmajorprojectsfinishingintimeforthe RugbyWorldCup2011tournament.History[edit]Bulkliquidstorageremainsoneofthemainusesinsomeareas.Marineindustriessuch fishingand shipbuildin
5、g aretoremain,mainlyconcentratedalongthewestofthenewquarter.EarlyuseTheWesternReclamationwasprogressivelyconstructedbythe AucklandHarbourBoard,ofwhich PortsofAuckland isthesuccessor.Thelastcomponentsofthereclamation(WynyardWharf)werebeingcompletedin1930andprovidedthegro
6、wingharbourwithadditionalberthagecapacityandincreasedlandforportactivities.Initiallyusedmainlybythe timber trade,itgraduallychangedtothecurrentbulkpetro-chemicalstorage.[1]CurrentuseAsofthelate2000s,theareawasstillusedbythebulkliquidindustry,with500,000tonnesofliquidsan
7、dcementbeingtransportedviaWynyardWharfeachyear.ThisprovidesNZ$1.2billionofyearlyturnover,and4000jobsintheAucklandeconomy.Therearealsomorethan100marinecompaniesaroundthearea,withaNZ$400millionyearlyturnover,exportingitemsworthNZ$120millionperyear.Threefishingfleets,Moana
