3、entstomovefromrotetoinquirylearning.However,“thenorminmanyclassroomsremainsteachingpracticethatresultsinrotelearningandregurgitatedfacts”.Inrecentyears,theHongKonggovernment’sEducationBureauhasputinquiry-basedlearningasthefirstemphasisunderthenewGeneralS
4、tudiescurriculumforprimaryschoolswiththeobjectiveof“creatingmorelearningspacebyremovingobsoletecontent,allowingmoretimeforinquiry-basedlearning".Manyschoolsarenowattemptingtoincorporatethismodeoflearningintotheircurriculum.ThisstudyreportsontwophasesofIB
5、Lprojectsundertakenby141GradeFourstudents,eachphaselastingfor2-3months.TheprojectswereledbyGeneralStudiesgeneralstudiesteachers,andheavilysupportedbyChinese-languageteachers,theinformationtechnologyteacherandtheschoollibrarian.Throughanalyzingthelessonpl
6、ans,in-classexercises,homeworkassignments,writtenreports,presentationsbystudents,anddatacollectedthroughsurveysandinterviews,thisarticlefocusesspecificallyontheroleofthegeneralstudiesteachersinguidingstudentsthroughtheinquiryprocess.Italsoanalyzesthestud
