2、ices.Obviously,everybodyisawareatthispointthatthisisgoingtobeabigandpowerfulstorm. AndallacrosstheEasternseaboard,Ithinkeverybodyistakingtheappropriatepreparations. I’vespokentoallthegovernorsinallthesestates. Theyhaveissuesemergencydeclarations. Thosehavebeenturnedaroundquicklyhereinthe
3、WhiteHouse. WehaveprepositionedassetssothatFEMApersonnelareworkingcloselywithstateandlocalgovernments. We’remakingsurethatfoodandwaterandemergencygenerationisavailableforthosecommunitiesthataregoingtobehardesthit. Weanticipatethatthecenterofthestormisgoingtolandfallsometimethisevening. B
4、utbecauseofthenatureofthisstorm,wearecertainthatthisisgoingtobeaslow-movingprocessthroughawideswathofthecountry,andmillionsofpeoplearegoingtobeaffected.SothemostimportantmessagethatIhaveforthepublicrightnowis,pleaselistentowhatyourstateandlocalofficialsaresaying. Whentheytellyoutoevacuat
5、e,youneedtoevacuate. Donotdelay. Don’tpause;don’tquestiontheinstructionsthatarebeinggiven,becausethisisaseriousstormanditcouldpotentiallyhavefatalconsequenceifpeoplehaven’tactedquickly.Thegoodnewsis,isthatthegovernorsandlocalofficialsIthinkhavehadafewdaysofpreparation. There'sbeenextraor
6、dinarilyclosecoordinationbetweenstate,federal,andlocalgovernments. Andsowe’reconfidentthattheassetsareprepositionedforaneffectiveresponseintheaftermathofthestorm.Butkeepinmindthatforfolkswhoarenotfollowinginstructions,ifyouarenotevacuatingwhenyou’vebeenaskedtoevacuate,you’reputtingfirstr
