2、8,Japan)AbstractSuperconductingmagnetsystemfora28GHzECRionsourcehasbeendesigned.Themaximumaxialmagnetic eldsare4Tattherfinjectionsideand2Tatthebeamextractionside,respectively.Thehexapolemagnetic eldisabout2Tontheinnersurfaceoftheplasmachamber.Thesuperconductingcoil
3、sconsistofsixsolenoidsandsixracetrackwindingsforahexapole eld.Twokindsofcoilarrangementswereinvestigated:oneisanarrangementinwhichthehexpolecoilislocatedintheboreofthesolenoids,andanotheristhereverseofit.ThecoilsuseNbTi-Copperconductorandarebath-cooledinliquidheliu
4、m.Thesixsolenoidsareexcitedwithindividualpowersuppliestosearchfortheoptimalaxial elddistribution.ThecurrentleadsusehighTcmaterialandthecryogenicsystemisoperatedinLHere-condensationmodeusingsmallrefrigerators.Thethermalinsulatedsupportsofthecoldmasshavealsobeendesig
