3、tionregionsystem.Spatialmodelsoftravelpatternwithdifferentscalesincludemacroscalein-ter-destinationsandmicroscaleintra-destinations.Theformerreferstovisitors'travelamongdifferentinterna-tionalorinterregionaldestinationswhichcanbegenerallydividedintosingledestinationtravelpatternandmulti-destinationt
4、ravelpattern.Itisobviousthatsingleandmulti-destinationtripsshouldbedifferentiatedandshouldbemodeledseparately.Thelatterconcernsthespatialmovementpatternsofvisitorswithinades-tination.Differenttourismdestinationsplaydifferentrolesaccordingtotheirlocationswithintheitinerarypatternsorfunctionalhierarch
5、ies.Visitorsarefoundtoexhibitdifferentbehavioralcharacteristicsindifferenttravelpatterns.Qualitativeandquantitativemethods,suchascorrelationanalysisandregressionanalysis,havebeenappliedtoexplorethefactorsinfluencingonmulti-destinationtripbehavior,whichcanbeclassi-fiedintotouristcharacteristicsanddes
6、tinationcharacteristics.Someresearcherstrytofindappropriatetheo-riestoexplainthetravelpattern,forexample,cumulativeattractiontheory,distancedecaytheoryandtimebudgetstheory.Basedontheaboveanalysis,theauthorsputforwardsomesuggestionsforthefutureresearch-es.Firstly,Multi-destinationtripsrepresentthecho
