2、me-sex(lesbianandgay)sexualitiesfrompsychoanalyticand‘lesbianandgayaffirmative’psychotherapeuticperspectives.Ananalysisispresentedofreportsofcountertransferentialreactionstolesbianandgayclients,obtainedfrominterviewswithfourteenpsychotherapistswhoworkinalesbianandgayaffirmativ
3、emannerandeighteenclientswhohadreceivedaffirmativepsychotherapy.Dataweresubjectedtogroundedanalysis.Participantsconsistentlyattendedtothethoughts,feelingsandvaluesthattherapistsheldinrelationtolesbianandgayclientsandhowtheseaffectedthemeaningsandpracticesavailabletothem.Thesew
4、erelinkedwiththetherapist’ssexualidentityamongotherfactors.Negativecountertransferentialreactionswereregardedaspotentiallyoccurringamongheterosexualandlesbianandgaytherapistsandwereseenasarisingfromtherapists’consciousandunconsciousfearsaboutsame-sexsexualities.Thesefindingsin
