4、land).Thefivemainaimsoflandscapemanagementcomprisethesustainableproductionandsupplyoffoodsandrawmaterialsbyagricultureandforestry,theprovisionofrecreationalspace,theconservationofecologicalandculturalresources,andtherestorationandreclamationofimpairedlandscapesorlandscapecompartments.In
5、certainsituationsitmaybepossiblethatlandscapesarenotmanagedatall.Unhinderedlandscapedevelopmentisanoptioninareasalreadylargelyabandoned.Aslandscapesareapublicgood,uponwhichmanypeoplestakeclaims,thecessationofanyactivelandscapetendingorthepreparationandimplementationofmanagementconceptss
6、houldbedevelopedinparticipatoryapproaches.InordertosolvetheurgentproblemsfacingEuropeanlandscapesitisnecessarytocommunicateadequatelytheirspecificvaluesandtoharmonisetheactionsofscientists,politicians,administrators,andlocalstakeholders.Keywords:Conservation,integrativestudies,landscape
