3、remanyadvantages,includingnonde-structive,nearsurfacehighresolution,cheapnessandquickness,etc.TheManghongOctagonaltowerwasbuiltinKangxiperiodofQingdynasty,locatedinLancangcounty,YunnanprovinceandbecameoneofthemostimportanthistoricalsitesinChina.Atpresent,ManghongOctagonal
4、Towerisincliningtonorthandthetowerappearssomecracksatthebricksontowerbody.Inordertoprotectculturalrelics,nondestructivedetectionmethodhastobeutilizedtoascertainthestruc-turalinformationoftowerfoundation,andanalyzethereasonwhythetowerwasinclined.Inthispaper,weusedRayleighw
5、aveexplorationtechniquewithhighresolutiontoobtainshearwavevelocitystructureoftowerfoundation.Combiningwiththeengineeringgeologicalinformation,wecandeducethereasonwhythetowerwasinclined,andprovidesomebasicadvicesfortheprotec-tionofculturalrelics.WeprocessedtheRayleighwaved
6、atafromthetwosurveylinesatthetowerfoundation,andobtainedtheinformationoftheshearwavevelocitystructure.Fromthere,wecandeducethebackfillsoilthicknessisabout1mnearsurfaceoftowerfoundationandthebedrockissandyconglomerate.Thetowerfoundationislocatedontherelativeprominentbedroc
7、ksurface,andashearwavelow-velocityareacanbefoundonthenorthoffoundationwithweakerbearingstratum.Wecanconcludefromtheresultofdetectionasfollow:1)thelocalfracturezoneexistonthenorthofthetower;2)theunevensupportedpowerbetweenthebearingstratumandtowerfoundationwouldleadthetowe
