2、ldResearchGeorgiaStateUniversitycontinuouslystrivestogiveitsstudentsacompetitiveedgebyofferingdistinctiveprogramsandchallengingclasses.OneoftheseistheHRFieldResearchcourse,whichisof-feredthroughtheBeebeInstitute.TheFieldResearchclass,apartnershipbetweentheBeebeInstituteandSHRMAtlanta,strivestobridg

3、etheclassroomwiththeworldofpracticebybringingtogetherHRstudents,HRpractitionersandSHRMmembersactingasadvisors.Sinceitsinceptionin1999,18projectshavebeencompletedbystudentsforprojectsponsors.Thestudents’projectsmayinvolvegatheringdata,analyzingfindingsanddevelopingrecommendationsrelatingtoawiderange

4、oftopics.Mr.GaryWheelerAttheendofthesemester,studentsmakeapresentationtotheirpro-HRBPCjectsponsor,theiradvisorandtheprofessorregardingtheirsemester-longproject.Mostofthestudents’recommendationsinthepastpro-jectswereimplementedandarestillbeingusedtoday.Pastsponsorshavefoundtheprogramveryflexible:the

5、irlevelofinvolvementcanbeasmuchoraslittleastheychooseorastheirschedulesper-mit.Sponsorsmayusetheopportunitytogetafreshperspectiveonanissueoraproject.Sometimes,theyusethegroupstodoprojectsthatnoonehashadthetimetocomplete.Mr.GaryWheelerofHumanResourceBusinessPartnerConsultant,LLCstates:“Ihaveutilized
