3、bethebehaviourofabout500“Researchers”intheGoogleAnswersonlineserviceandover70,000questionsposedonthissystemovera29monthperiod.GoogleAnswersisafee-basedenvironment.Answersprovidedonitare“worth”over$20(includingtips)onaverage.However,laboureconomicsofresponsetopriceandti

4、palonedonotfullyaccountfortheonlineinformationprovisionmarket.Non-monetaryincentives,suchasfeedbackintheformofcommentspredictandexplainsomeofthevarianceinparticipation.Descriptiveandcorrelationalfindingspresentedherearebasedonmanythousandsofanswers.Wethuscorroboratesom

5、eofthehybridtheoriesofinformationprovisionbehaviourpresentedtodatemostlyinlaboratorysettings.TheparticipationofexpertsinGoogleanswersisassociatedwithahybridofmaterial(economic)andsocialmotivators.Keywords:Informationmarkets,socialincentives,economicincentives,knowledge
