4、ofpolychlorinatedbiphenyls(PCBs).TheHudsonRiverNaturalResourceTrustees-NewYorkWLState,theU.S.DepartmentofCommerce,andtheU.S.DepartmentoftheInterior-areconductinganaturalresourcedamageassessment(NRDA)toassessandrestorethosenaturalresourcesinjuredHUDSONRIVERObyPCBs.Asameansofev
5、aluatingregionalaviancontamination,ascreeninglevelsurveyofEasternscreechowl(Otusasio)eggswasconductedinApril2003.ThisDataReportprovidestheresultsofthatCREECHpreliminaryinvestigationconductedpursuanttotheNRDA.SThiscollectionsupplementstheavianeggdatafromtheTrustees'HudsonRiver
6、avianeggexposureINSpreliminaryinvestigationthatwasconductedfromApril2002throughJune2002.Inthatinvestigation,168eggsfrom11avianspecieswerecollectedandanalyzed.However,onlyoneEasternscreechowleggwascollectedandanalyzed.InthateggtotalPCBs(freshweightbasis,as:PCBsumofhomologues)m
7、easured8,010ppb.ThetenEasternscreechowleggsamplescollectedinApril2003wereanalyzedfor47selectedPCBcongeners,PCBhomologuegroups,totalPCBs,percentlipids,andpercentmoisture.TotalPCBEPORTconcentrationsinthoseeggsrangefrom744partsperbillion(ppb)to7,450ppb(freshweightbasis,Rassumofh
