2、ldandElihuKatzin1955(Lazarsfeld&Katz,1955),HallandMorleydevelopedtheactiveaudiencetheoryintothecontextofcontemporaryculturalstudies.Nowwearelivinginthenewmediaera,thedigitaleraofmasscommunication.Audiencesarenotonlyrecipientsofinformation,butactive.Theyhavetheirownmindandusespecificmedia

3、contentandinformationtogetgratifications.Anactiveaudiencecanmeanthatpeopledonotsimplyacceptandbelieveeverythingtheyreceivefromthemedia.Itisundoubtedlythatdifferentaudiencesmayhavedifferentideasandattitudestowardamediamessagewiththeirownmindsandcanhavedifferentresponsestoit.Theseresponses

4、arenotchaotic,butareassociatedwiththeaudience'sage,educationlevel,commoncommunicationchannelsandotherpersonalcharacteristics.(Miller&Philo,2001).Astimewentby,theresearchesfocustostudytheactiveoftheaudience,ratherthanapassiveaudience.Differentexpertsputforwardadifferentpointofviewtosuppor
