4、nimals,theso-called‘maritalgood’,theglobalimplicationsofthecommongood,theroleoflegalauthorityandthenaturallawviewoflaw.ManyoftheseissuesholdsignificancenotonlyforFinnis’stheory,butfornaturallawmorebroadly.IWHATISTHEETHICALSTATUSOFNON-HUMANANIMALS?Finnispresentsawiderangingtheoryof
5、ethics.Hisethicaltheorybeginsbydiscussingthebasicformsofgoodforhumans.Finnisarguestherearesevensuchgoods:life,knowledge,friendship,play,aestheticexperience,spiritualityandpracticalreasonableness.4Humanscaninteractwiththesebasicgoodsinarangeofreasonableways.However,sometypesofactio
