7、honorsandwenttoCambridgeUniversitytopursueaPhDincosmology.张海迪，以残疾之躯，完成了许多健全人都无法做到的事情，她的事迹曾鼓舞和感动无数人。她因此成为一代中国青年的楷模，被誉为“中国的‘保尔”张海迪1955年9月生于济南，5岁时，爱唱爱跳的小海迪突然跌倒，经过多家医院检查确诊，她患上了脊髓血管瘤。以后的4年里，小海迪动过3次大手术，先后摘除了6块椎板，幼小的生命虽然保住了，却从此高位截瘫。张海迪以保尔·柯察金的英雄形象鼓舞自己，用惊人的毅力忍受着常人难以想像的
8、痛苦，同病残作顽强的斗争，同时勤奋地学习，忘我地工作。她先后自学了小学、中学和大学的专业课程。张海迪还自学了英语、日语、德语和世界语，翻译了近20万字的外文著作和资料。翻译出版《海边诊所》《丽贝在新学校》《小米勒旅行记》《莫多克——一头大象的真实故事》等作品。1983年，张海迪开始走上文学创作的道路，著有散文集《鸿雁快快飞》《向天空敞开的窗口》
