2、tantroleinhumanlifeformorethanacentury．Withthedevelopmentoftheautomobileindustry,thedemandforpetroleumisincreasing．BecauseofChina’Slargepetroleumdemandandlackofresources，energyconservationandconsumptionreductionareimportantsubjectsinfrontofUS．AttheSalTletime，thelandareainthemount

3、ainousinChinaaccountsfor69％(includingthehillsandhighlandareas)，andtheroadinmountainousareasaccountsforasignificantportionofthetotalroads．Roadtransportisthemaintransportinthemountains．Sothestudyofdrivingfuel—efficientlyontheroadinthemountainshasgreatsignificance．Inthispaper,bythem

4、ethodsoftheoreticalanalysis，testingandsimulationcalculation，theeconomicdrivingmodeoflightvehiclestravelingdownhillisstudied．Theprinciplesofenginebrakinganditscharacteristicsareanalyzed，andthedynamic，andeconomiccharacteristicsoftheselectedvehiclearecalculated．Experimentsaredoneona

5、flatroad，theenginebrakingcharacteristicsandfuelconsumptioncharacteristicsaregot，anditsmodelissettedup．Thefuelconsumptioncalculationaboutthevariousmodesofvehicletravelingdownhillissimulated，andtheresultsarecontrastedandanalyzedaccordingtothetestresultsonthefiatroad．Theanalysisshow
