3、ttodevelopanewdetectionequipmentthatcanobtainthedataofrailwaygaugequicklyandcorrectlyandcompletethedetectiontask．Thisdemandcanbesatisfiedbynon·contactmeasuringmethodbecausethetechniqueobtainsthedataofrailwaygaugebythemeansofprocessingtheimageswhichwereacquiredbyimagesensor．Althoughbeingfaster，moree

4、xactlyandmorelaborsavingthanfixed·pointcontactmethod，non-contactmeasuringmethodwasnotgivenenoughattention。TwoCCDimagesensorsandimageacquisitioncardswereusedtoacquirethefrontalimageoftraininthispaper．Beforeimageacquisition，thecameraswerecalibratedrespectively．Intheprocess，Marrvisiontheorywasappliedt

5、osolvethecalibrationmatrixes，lensradialdistortionparameterandpolarlineequations．Imageswereacquiredaftercalibratingintheconditionthattheintemalandextemalparametersofcameraswerekeepinginvariant．Thenimageswereprocessedbymanymethodsincludingsmoothing，sharpening，edgedetectionsuccessively．Thenextmatching

6、ofimagescombinedofcalibrationparametersandpolarlineequations．Similaritymethod，relaxediterativealgorithmandSectionalMethodwereusedinmatching．Calculatespatialpositionofobjectwiththedataofmatching．Spatialpositionandgaugestandardwerecomparedtoverdictoverrunornotafterspatialpositionhadbeencalculatedbyma
