3、ichitadoptedamendmentstochaptersVIandVIIoftheInternationalConventionfortheSafetyofLifeatSea(SOLAS)1974,asamended(hereinafterreferredtoas“theConvention”),tomaketheprovisionsoftheInternationalMaritimeSolidBulkCargoes(IMSBC)CodemandatoryundertheConvention,HAVINGC
4、ONSIDERED,atitseighty-fifthsession,thetextoftheproposedInternationalMaritimeSolidBulkCargoes(IMSBC)Code,1.ADOPTStheInternationalMaritimeSolidBulkCargoes(IMSBC)Code,thetextofwhichissetoutintheannextothepresentresolution;2.NOTESthat,undertheaforementionedamendme
5、ntstochapterVIoftheConvention,futureamendmentstotheIMSBCCodeshallbeadopted,broughtintoforceandshalltakeeffectinaccordancewiththeprovisionsofarticleVIIIoftheConventionconcerningtheamendmentsproceduresapplicabletotheAnnextotheConventionotherthanchapterIthereof;3
6、.INVITESContractingGovernmentstotheConventiontonotethattheIMSBCCodewilltakeeffecton1January2011uponentryintoforceofamendmentstochaptersVIandVIIoftheConvention;4.AGREESthatContractingGovernmentstotheConventionmayapplytheIMSBCCodeinwholeorinpartonavoluntarybasis
7、asfrom1January2009;5.REQUESTStheSecretary-GeneraltotransmitcertifiedcopiesofthisresolutionanditsannextoallContractingGovernmentstotheConvention;6.FURTHERREQUESTStheSecretary-GeneraltotransmitcopiesofthisresolutionanditsannextoallMembersoftheOrganizationwhichar
