1、摘要城市是稳定的人口与空间物质资源和历史文化的集合体，是人类文明的集中体现，每一个城市都有其独特的发展历程，并形成独特的城市文化，生活在城市中的人们也都因此而具有不同的性格，沿着城市历史发展的轨迹，把握城市在历史沉浮中的社会变迁、探寻城市文化是城市史研究的重要内容。齐齐哈尔是清代建置的一个东北部地区城市。从齐齐哈尔建城到现代的发展轨迹来看，一方面由于地域原因，近代受西方影响较少、较晚，保留了一定的传统性；另一方面，在城市发展变迁中又由于外力因素使城市功能呈现出明显的阶段性特征，并最终形成了独具特色的城市文化。本文研究以城市社会学理论

2、为基础，试通过对齐齐哈尔城市长时段的历史变迁及政治、经济、社会、文化的近代、现代转型进行梳理和分析，将齐齐哈尔城市功能的历史变迁划分为三个阶段：齐齐哈尔城市的建置与早期城市功能定位；齐齐哈尔近代城市功能转型中的迟滞原因及表现；建国初期齐齐哈尔城市由传统向现代化的跃进及新城市文化的形成。从而纵向地对齐齐哈尔城市功能变迁进行探讨。同时又将齐齐哈尔城市的研究置于区域城市体系之中，通过纵向与横向的比较，把握历史时期城市发展的整体特征，对城市的功能、地位的变化、城市政治、经济的发展、城市建设与规划以及不同时期城市发展的动力进行横向比较，记述建
