4、imentwasconductedtoinvestigatetheeffectsofreturningmaizestrawtofield(RMSF)ongrainyieldandqualityinricewithjaponicaYangjing4038asmaterial.Themainresultsduringthreeyears(2009-2011)wereasfollows:1)RMSFcouldincreasetotalNcontentandorganicmattercontentinpaddysoil;2)Underthecondition
5、ofnonitrogen(N)applied,RMSFsignificantlyincreasedgrainyieldby18.9%-32.0%,whencomparedwithCK(withoutmaizestrawreturning);3)Undertheconditionofsite-specificnitrogenmanagement(SSNM),RMSFdecreasedNrateby7.4%-16.7%,andincreasedgrainyieldby0.5%-11.0%,enhancedpartialfactorproductivity
6、ofNfertilizerby18.0%-31.7%,whencomparedwithCK;4)UndertheconditionsofnoNapplicationorSSNM,RMSFsignificantlyimprovedheadricerate,peakviscosityandbreakdownvalue,reducedchalkygrainrate,chalkiness,finalviscosityandsetbackvaluewithoutsignificantdifferencesinbrownricerate,milledricera
7、te,amylosecontentandgelconsistencewhencomparedwithCK.RMSFalsoincreasedproteincontent.TheaboveresultsshowedthatRMSFwasbeneficialtosoilfertilizing,andSSNMwouldhelpfurtherreducetheamountofNrateandincreasegrainyieldandqualityofriceaswell.Keywords:maizestrawreturning;site-specificni
