3、procedures.Mainpurposeofimagefusionistoextractallusefulinformationfrominputimagesandprovideoneoutputmageofhighquality.Inspiteofitsmultipleapplications,existingimagefusiontechniqueshavesomesignificantlimitationsi.e.,spatialdomaintechniqueshavelowfrequencyinformationwhereasspectra

4、ldomainhavelowtimeresolutionwhichdegradesthequalityofoutputimage.Howeverexistingtechniqueslikestationarywavelettransform(SWT)provideadequatefrequencyresolutionbuthaspoortimeinformationwhileindiscretewavelettransform(DWT)imageistransformedfromspatialdomaintofrequencydomain.Incase

5、ofprincipalcomponentanalysis(PCA),itprovidesgoodtimeinformationbuthaspoorfrequencyinformation.Keepinginmindtheexistingcomplications,thereisadireneedtodevelopanefficientalgorithmwhichcanprovidebothfrequencyresolutionaswellastimeresolutionsimultaneously.Tocomparetheresultsoftwopro

6、posedmethods,PCA+DWTandPCA+DSWT;avarietyofimagefusionqualityparameterssuchaspeaksignaltonoiseratio,meansquarederrorandnormalizedcrosscorrelationareemployedforthequalitativemeasurements.AnalysisofcomparisonresultsdemonstratesthattheproposedmethodsPCA+DWTandPCA+DSWTexhibitbetterou

7、tcomesthanmanyotherfusionmethods,qualitativelyaswellasquantitatively.Thesehybridtechniquesareproposedtoobtainabetterefficientandbetterqualityfusedimagewhichwillpreserveedges,itsspatialresolutionandimproveshiftinvariance.MATLABtoolisalsousedforallsimulationsandwerecarriedoutthrou
