5、aryfreedomandacosmopolitanwayoflife.Acosmopolitancultureisonewhichincludesandvaluesavarietyofbackgroundsandcultures.Inthe1920'stheWhiteAngloSaxonProtestantworkethicwastheonlyculturethatwasconsideredandvaluedbythemajorityofAmericans.Itwasbecauseofethicssuchasthiswhich
6、madethecosmopolitancultureofParissoalluring.AmericanLiteraturewentthroughaprofoundchangeinthepostWWIera.Upuntilthispoint,AmericanwriterswerestillexpectedtousetherigidVictorianstylesofthe19thCentury.Thelostgenerationwriterswereabove,orapartfrom,Americansociety,notonly
