2、6年的历史，是一部具有二十四史规模的卷帙庞大之作。本文力图就其中的《后汉演义》一书来具体分析作者的演义目的与明清其他历史演义小说的差异，并从小说的史料来源和叙事特点上进一步探讨这套历史演义小说的价值所在。《后汉演义》较之《三国志》和《三国演义》有其独特之处，在史料的选择和运用上，作者以“正史”为主，兼采稗史、轶闻，而出于稗史轶闻者必有旁证。另外其批注借鉴了《通鉴考异》的文献史料考核方法，并随文作了很多通俗简要的注释，这就达到了博采众长，文史折中的效果。蔡东藩先生的史德、史识、史才都体现在他的这套演义丛书当中，通过《后汉演义
