4、ondcases．Intheresearch，adigitalimagecapturingsystemisconstructed．Thehardwareandsoftwarepartofthesystemarechosenaccordingtopracticalneeds．Thepresentlycommonmethodsondetectionandtrackingofmovingobjectsareintroducedfirst．Formovingobjectdetection，threemethods，

5、including‘differentialbetweenadjacentframes’，‘backgroundsubtractction’and‘opticalflow’，arediscussed．Throughcomparisonandanalysis，themerits，weaknessesandapplicationfieldofeachmethodareconcluded．Formovingobjecttracking，therearethreefeaturematchingalgorithms：

6、‘absolute—balancesearching’，‘normalizedcross—correlationmatching’，and‘histogrammatching’．Twofastmatchingmethods，‘sequentialsimilaritydetectionalgorithm’and‘pyramidhierarchicalsearchingalgorithm’arealsointroduced．Basedonthestudiesofthesealgorithms，thispaper

7、designsandimplementsapracticalsystemforsequenceimagecapturingandmovingobjectdetectionandtracking，usingVisualc++andOpenCV．ThissystemCandetectandtrackmovingobjectmoreaccuratelyandlesstime—consuming．Inordertoimprovetheaccuracyandenhancethereal—timeabilityoftr
