3、communicationisafundamentalabilitythatenablesmobileagentstocooperatewitheachotherbysharingandexchanginginformationandpartialresults,andcollectivelymakingdecisions.Althoughprocesscommunicationhasbeenaclicheindistributedsystemsresearch,thepresenceofmobilityrai
4、sesanumberofnewchallengesindesigningmessagedeliveryprotocolsforeffectiveandefficientcommunicationsbetweenmobileagents.Indesigningsuchaprotocol,twofundamentalissuesmustbeaddressed:(1)trackingthelocationofthetargetmobileagent,and(2)deliveringthemessagereliably
5、totheagent.Manyprotocolshavebeenproposedinrecentyearstosolveaboveproblems.However,theyallhavedifferentassumptionsanddesigngoals,andtheirownwaysofsolvingtheproblems.Duetolackofgoodunderstandingofrequirementsofmobileagentmessagedeliveryprotocolswithrespecttodi
6、fferentclassesofapplications,therehavebeennouniformandstructuredmethodsforcharacterizingprotocolsanditisdifficulttoevaluatetheeffectivenessandperformancesofparticularprotocols.Inthisthesiswepresentourin-depthresearchonthedesignofmobileagentcommunicationproto
7、cols.Contributionsofthisthesisinclude:Requirementsforthemobileagentmessagedeliveryprotocolsareanalyzed,whichcanbeusedasexcellentguidelinesforuserstodesignnewprotocolsorselectanappropriateprotocolfromexistingonesforparticularapplications.2.Ahighlyflexibleanda
