1、内容提要内外服制度是以血缘宗族关系为主的夏商周三代时期所特有的政治制度，对研究三代时期的政治、经济、军事、文化等各个方面具有十分重要的作用。内外服制度的实质含义是指的一种指定服役制，是按照对时王的血缘宗族关系的亲疏米划分的一种政治结构。王畿内为内服，以时王同姓及异姓亲族为主；王畿外为外服，以与王血缘宗族关系较疏远的异姓诸邦方为主。夏商两代如此。而到了西周，由于周初便开始大批分封诸侯，内外服制与分封制相结合，因而在内外服的具体内容上较夏商有所不同。其内服，即王畿内的王同姓及异姓亲族为主的畿内诸侯；而外服，则不再是由与时王没有血亲关系之异姓为主，而是以分封的大批的王同姓及异姓的诸侯国为主
