4、solution.Theeffectsofcontacttime,pH,temperatureandadsorbentdosageonadsorptioncapabilitywereinvestigated.Adsorptionkinetics,adsorptionisothermanddesorptionofadsorbedheavymetalionswerealsoresearched.Theresultsindicatedthattheadsorptionreactionofheavymetalswasrapidandr
5、eachedequilibriumin30min.AdsorptioncapacitiesofheavymetalsincreasedwithincreasinginitialpH,temperatureandadsorbentdosage.Adsorptionreactionisendothermic.TheoptimumpHforallthefourionsadsorptionwasobservedat5.5-6.5.TheremovalrateofPb(II),Cd(II),Cu(II)ionswithinitialco
6、ncentrationof50mg/Laremorethan98%,andZn(II)ionsremovalisabout90%.Thesuitabilityofadsorptionkineticsforheavymetalstoapseudo-second-orderkineticsmodelsuggestedthattheadsorptionratemaybegovernedbychemiadsorptioninvolvingionsexchangeorsharingbetweenadsorbentandmetalions
7、.TheadsorptionequilibriumdatawaswellinterpretedbyLangmuirandFreundlichisothermmodel.Theadsorptionbehavedasmonomolecularlayer.Themaximum-1monolayeradsorptioncapacitywas1666.7,666.7,303.0and454.6mg·gforPb(II),Cd(II),Cu(II)andZn(II)ions,respectively,at25℃.Adsorbedmetal
8、ionsweredesorbedeffectivelyby0.1MHClsolution.Desorptionratewasabout95.2,92.4,98.7and94.3%forPb(II),Cd(II),Cu(II)andZn(II)ions,respectively
