3、lecarriedbythevehicle，beforetheinformationofthe10cationissenttothemonitorcentrebytheGSMmedule，itisneededtobepreprocessedbythecontrolmodule，themonitoringcentre，alongwiththeGISsystem，sendsthecontrolcommandstothevehicleterminalaftertheanalysisofthelocationinformation．Firstly,thedevelopments

4、ofvehiclemonitoringsystemandtheprinciplesofthesystemarepresented，includingthecompositionofGPSsystem，theshuctllreofthesignals，theprincipleofpositioningandthelocationerror．Bythecomparisonamongseveralwirelesscommunicationprotocolsinthevehiclelocationsystem，GSMmessageserviceisselectedtoserve

5、astheultimatesolutiontocommunication．Secondly,particularintentionispaidonthetechnologiesrelevanttoGSMcommunication．Designofthevehicleterminalisdiscussedfromthepracticalpointofview．BasedontheanalysisoftheGPSmodule，GSMmoduleandARMmaincontrolmodule，thebasicfunctionsofthevehicleterminalarere
