3、capplications.Aseriesofbreakthroughshasbeenmadeinlifesciencerecently.AsaresultofthesuccessfulexecutionoftheHumanGenomeProjectrHGP)andrelatedadvancementinmodembiology,ahugeamountofdatahasbeenaccumulated,providingastrongdatabaseforuncoveringthesecretoflife.Biologi
4、caldataisrichinvariety,andhigh—throughputwimhighdimensions.Inessence.ithasheterogeneityandnetworkcharactersthatarefarbeyondthepoweroftraditionalanalyticalmeans.Theanalysisofthesebio—databecomesthebottleneckofbiologicalresearch.Applyinginformationtechnologytomole
5、cularbiologygivesariseabrandnewfield,bioinformatics.Asalleffectivewayoffindingtheneedle(biologicalknowledge)fromahaystack(rawdata),datamininghasalsobecomeincreasinglyimportantinbioinformaticsstudy.Asaresultoftheprogressofthegenomeresearchandtheadventofmanyhighth
