6、iesandwidevariationsinmaterialproperties.Thestressesatcorners,aroundopenings,andintensionzonescanbeapproximatedwithafiniteelementmodel.Itcanmodelconcretethermalbehaviorandcouplethermalstresseswithotherloads.Animportantadvantageofthismethodisthatcomplicatedfoundation
7、sinvolvingvariousmaterials,weakjointsonseams,andfracturingcanbereadilymodeled.SpecialpurposecomputerprogramsdesignedspecificallyforanalysisofconcretegravitydamsareCG-DAMS(Anatech1993),whichperformsstatic,dynamic,andnonlinearanalysisandincludesasmearedcrackmodel,andM
