3、ndingsofaviabilitystudyconductedatourinstitution andfacilitatedby(a)evaluationofvariousapproachesfortheprovisionofstudy skillstrainingemployedbyhighereducationinstitutionsworldwide,and(b)surveying studentsfromvariousdepartmentsanddisciplines.Thesystemcomprises anumberofinteracti
4、vemodulesusedasflexiblelearningaidsinconjunctionwith existinglearningskillsmaterialsandresources.Theinteractivityofthesystemis achievedbyusersmakingchoices,answeringquestions,andcompletingactivities relatedtotheirownexperiences. 6.1Introduction6.1.1BackgroundandRationaleTheimpor
5、tanceandneedforeducationtoplayanessentialroleinsocietyhas alwaysbeenrecognized.Withoutahigh-qualityeducationinfrastructure,people withahighlevelofskillsandexpertise,whoarecrucialtosustainandbuildany moderncivilization,wouldnotbeadequatelytrainedandqualified.Consequently, educati
6、onalauthoritiesworldwideplaceconsiderabletimeandfundsintodeveloping theireducationpolicies.Innoplaceisthismoreevidentthaninthird-level institutions,i.e.,universityandcollegeeducation.InIreland,highereducationinstitutions haveseenanenormousincreaseinthenumberofstudentsenteringthi
