4、rilyattheengineeringprofession,butitwillbeofusetootherpartiesconcernedwithslopesandretainingwallsmaintenance.ThestandardsforthemaintenanceofslopesinHongKongwasfirstgiveninthesecondeditionoftheGeotechnicalManualforSlopespublishedin1984.Theywerelaterupdateda
5、ndexpandedtoproducethefirsteditionofthisGeoguidein1995.SincethepromulgationofthisGeoguide,slopemaintenancehasbeenimplementedinamoresystematicmannerforman-madeslopesandretainingwalls.Theexperiencegainedhasenabledustoconductareviewontherequirementsandstandar
6、dsforslopemaintenanceandledustothisrevision.Thiseditionallowsslopeownerstoaccordmaintenanceeffortstoslopesandretainingwallswithrespecttotheirconsequences.Italsoaddressesotherissuesthathavecomeuplately,includingmaintenancerequirementsfordisturbedterrainfeat
7、uresandmeasuresimplementedforthemitigationofnaturalterrainhazard.Opportunityisalsotakentomakeotherminorcorrectionsandenhancements.ThepreparationofthisrevisionisundertheoveralldirectionofaWorkingGroup.ThemembershipoftheWorkingGroup,givenonthenextpage,includ
