4、thewheelscanbeprovidedsolelybyatheseout-of-vehicletests.Ourpurposewasto(273.6VoltNickelMetalHydride[NiMH])batterypackunderstandhowthebatterieswerepackagedandthroughtheelectricmotor,directlyfromthegasolineperformedfromathermalperspective.ThePriusNiMHengine,orfromacombinationo

5、fboththemotorandthebatterypackwastestedatvarioustemperatures(0°C,engine.Thebatterypackcanberechargeddirectlyby25°C,and40°C)andunderdrivingcycles(HWFET,energyfromthewheelspoweringthemotorFTP,andUS06).Theairflowthroughthepackwasalso(regenerativebraking)orfromexcessenergyfromth

6、eanalyzed.Overall,wefoundthattheU.S.Priusbatterygasolineengine–whichturnsthegenerator[1].packthermalmanagementsystemincorporatesinterestingfeaturesandperformswellundertestedThefollowingsectionsexplainhowthePriusbatteryconditions.packisconstructed,howitisthermallymanaged,andh
