2、onventionalgasplaysthathavebeendiscoveredintheU.S.inrecentyearsandpromisetodramaticallychangethecourseoffuturedomesticenergydevelopment.TheHaynesvilleShaleisthedeepest,hottest,andhighestpressuredshaleamongthebigfourplaysintheU.S.withdrillingandcompletioncostrangingbetween$7and
3、$10millionperwell.TheaverageHaynesvillewellhasaninitialproductionrateof10MMcfdanddeclinesrapidly,producing80%ofitsexpectedrecoveryduringthefirst2yearsofproduction.Thepurposeofthisarticleistodescribethepro-ductivitycharacteristicsofHaynesvillewells,projectfutureproductionfromthe
4、inventoryofactivewells,andassessproductionpotentialbasedondrillingscenarios.Weofferstatisticalanalysisofthewellsdrilledtodateandconstructtypeprofilestocharacterizetheplay.WeestimatethatthecurrentinventoryofHaynesvillewellswillproduce3Tcfovertheirlife-cycles,andwithinthenext3yea
