2、nfluencingonthecapacityofsignalizedintersectionshasbeenattemptedbyseveralscholarsandresearchersfrombothhomeandabroad．However,studiesofbusstops’impactoncapacityofcurblanesarefoundtobeveryfew．Theobjectiveofthisstudyistoinvestigatethequantitativeimpactsofbusstopsoncapacityofcur

3、blanesforthefourcategoriesofroadwaysinBeijing．Twotypesofbusstopssuchasbusbaysandcurbsidebusstopsimpactsoncapacityofcurblaneshavebeeninvestigatedforthesefourcategories，namelyexpressways，majorroads，minorroadsandtertiarystreets．Datahavebeencollectedatbusbaysandcurbsidebusstopsr

4、espectivelyforeachofthefourcategoriesofroadwaysbyvideographingorvideotaping．Newconceptsofbusimpacttimeoccupancyrateorratioandbusimpacttime(mainparameter)havebeenintroducedinthestudy．Relationshipsamongbusdecelerationtime，busaccelerationtime，busstopoccupancytime(busdwelltime)a

5、ndbusimpacttimehavebeenestablishedwhenbusesmaneuvertopullintoandoutofthebusstops，fromfieldobservation．Astatisticalrelationshipbetweenbusimpacttimesandbusarrivalfrequencies(volumes)hasbeenestablishedusingaStatisticalProgramforSocialSciences，(SPSSi3)forWindows．Threescenariosfo

6、rcollectionofbusimpacttimesandbusarrivalfrequenciesdatahavebeenconsidered．Modelsofquantitativeimpactsofbusstopsoncapacityofcurblanesforthethreescenarioswerebuiltandcalibratedforthebusparameters(busimpacttimeandbusarrivalfrequency)usingthecollecteddatafromfiftybusstops．Aftert
