4、methodconnectingalltheseareas.Moreover,thoughgraphic-basedmodellingtechniquesareofincreasinginterest,thereareveryfewthatarefoundedonformalmethods.ThisbookintendstobridgethegapbetweenPetrinets,whichful lmanydesirablerequirements,andthesystemsmodellingandimplementationpro-cess.P
5、etrinetsareintroducedfromitsbasicsandtheiruseformodellingandveri cationofsystemsisdiscussed.Severalapplicationdomainsareselectedtoillustratethemethod.ThebookhasbeenwritteninthecontextoftheMATCHproject.Wewishtothankallparticipantsfortheircontributionstotheconceptandde-signofthe
