2、scussionseveralyearsagofocusedmainlyontheexpectedcostduetotheimplementationofBasel-IIontheindividualbanklevel,therecentdiscussionpaysincreasingattentiontointernationalcompetitionissues,asEuropeisimplementingthenewcapitalaccordratherquickly,whileintheUS
3、thereissignificantdoubt,whetherBasel-IImightcauseseveredisadvantages.Thisarticlehighlightssometopics,whichmaybeimportanttoassesstheoverallcompetitioneffectsofBasel-II.Surprisingly,therearerelativelyfewfeaturesofBasel-IIthatmightleadtomajordisturbancesi
